Locator® abutments

The Locator® attachment (ZEST ANCHORS) is one of the most popular root and implant attachments on the market today due to its low profile (3.17mm), versatility (up to 20 degrees of divergence, universal hinge, resilient) and serviceability (replaceable nylon liners available in seven different levels of retention from 0lb. up to 5lb.). Locator® attachment abutments are offered for a very wide variety of implant systems (compatibility chart) and collar heights (0mm to 6mm). A simple multifunction tool (Locator® core tool, part #8393, manual) containing a Locator® driver, nylon liner removal tool and a nylon liner seating tool is all that is needed to perform almost every service function.

Impression coping & analog

A standard implant fixture level impression (direct or indirect) will enable the laboratory to pour a model with implant analogs and soft tissue moulage and choose appropriate collar height attachments. In case the restorative dentist already placed the Locator®, a special impression coping (part #8505) is utilized to register the attachment position in the impression and a model with analogs (part #8530) and without soft tissue moulage can be poured.

Torque wrench set up

Incorporating the Locator® attachment in to a implant over denture ranges from placing the Locator® directly on to the implant or incorporating the attachment in to a bar through laser (part #8590), cast on (part #8586) and screw in (part #8589) techniques. Processing the over denture differs in regards to how the over denture is supported. If the denture is tissue and implant supported a black polyethylene liner (part #8515) is used in the titanium housing during processing. If the over denture is entirely implant bar borne a yellow polyehtylene liner (part #8026) is utilized for processing.

At the restoration delivery appointment the Locator® abutment attachment is screwed on to the implants with the Locator® driver connected to a torque wrench with a 0.050"- 1.25mm hex tip (not included with the Locator® tool) and torqued to the implant manufacturers recommendation (torque chart). The nylon liners are color coded according to retention strength and degree of divergence. 0 to 10 degrees: clear 5lb (part #8524), pink 3lb (part #8527), blue 1.5lb (part #8529), gray 0lb (part #8558) and 10 to 20 degrees: green 4lb (part #8547), orange 2lb (part #8915), red 1lb (part #8548) and gray 0lb (part #8558).
