Astra Tech IMPLANTS
OsseoSpeed EV
The familiar grade 4 titanium implant body geometry,
surface technology and thread pattern is carried forward from the TX series unchanged to the EV implant
generation. Implant body diameter and implant/abutment interface connection size have been expanded to
six specific diameters of 3.0, 3.6, 4.2, 4.8 and 5.4mm. Each distinct implant body diameter is denominated
through a color coding scheme for easy identification as follows. Green 3.0, purple 3.6, yellow 4.2, blue 4.8
and brown is for 5.4mm diameter implants. The implant/abutment interface has been redesigned as a
asymmetric heptagon and is therefore not compatible with the previous TX implant series prosthetic components.
This feature allows six positions for stock abutments and only one definitive position for custom abutments
from Atlantis.
OsseoSpeed EV S
All six diameters are offered in the habitual straight body geometry with apical cutting flutes. 3.6, 4.2 and
4.8mm diameter implants are provided in seven lengths of 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17mm while 3.0mm diameter
implants are supplied in five lengths of 8, 9, 11, 13 and 15 mm while 5.4mm implants are furnished in six
lengths of 6, 8, 9, 11, 13 and 15mm.
OsseoSpeed EV C
Conical top geometry implants are available in two diameters of 4.2 and 4.8mm. To facilitate the
continuation of the implant diameter designation only the crestal aspect of the implant is as wide as
the diameter designation. The actual implant body diameter is 0.6mm smaller than the given diameter
designation. Both 4.2 and 4.8mm diameter implants are offered in six lengths of 8, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17mm.
OsseoSpeed Profile EV
Profile EV implants are offered in both body styles, straight (PS) and conical (PC) top. Two diameters of
4.2 (yellow) and 4.8mm (blue) are produced and available in six lengths of 8, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17mm.
Profile implants require special impression copings and prosthetic components not compatible with regular
EV type implants. Packaging for profile implants and prosthetics are marked with a capital "P" along with
the color coding for easy identification.

Fig.1
The grade 4 titanium implants are machined with a parallel geometry and a tapered apex.
Surface texturing is achieved through titanium oxide particle blasting and
a fluoride surface (Fig.4) additive to enhance osseointegration. Two outside tread
patterns are machined on to the implant body consisting of micro threads
at the coronal portion and a regular thread pattern on the main portion
of the implant. The implant/abutment interface connection is constructed
as a internal, double hex conical connection, allowing 12 different
positions for final abutments.
Fig.2
Astra does provide some color coding in regards to implant or platform
diameter on some of the actual components, in some instances color coding is
only provided on the component packaging.
Four different implant diameters (Fig.1) with 3 implant/abutment platform connection diameters (Fig.2) are offered for this
system. 3.0mm (yellow), 3.5mm/4.0mm (aqua) and 5.0mm (lilac). Implants with a
crestal diameter of 3.5mm and 4.0mm share the same prosthetic components (aqua). 5.0mm implants
share the same prosthetic components
as well (lilac). 3.0mm diameter implants are available in lengths of 11mm, 13mm and 15mm.
3.5 diameter implants are provided in lengths of 8, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17mm.
4.0 diameter implants are offered in an additional length of 6mm.
5.0 diameter implants are available in lengths of 9, 11, 13, 15
and 17mm.

Fig.3
The grade 4 titanium implants are machined with a parallel main body geometry with a crestal
conical portion and a tapered apex (Fig.3). Surface texturing is achieved through
titanium oxide particle blasting and a fluoride surface additive (Fig.4) to
enhance osseointegration. Two outside tread patterns are machined on to
the implant body consisting of micro threads at the coronal conical portion
and a regular thread pattern on the main portion of the implant. The
implant/abutment interface connection is constructed as a internal,
double hex conical connection, allowing 12 different positions for final
abutments.

Astra does provide color coding in regards to implant or platform
diameter on some of the actual components and on the component packaging.
4.5 diameter (measured at its widest crestal point)
implants are available in lengths of 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17mm with a main
implant body diameter of 3.5mm. 5.0 diameter (measured at its widest crestal
point) implants are available in lengths of 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17mm with a
main implant body diameter of 4mm. Even though the crestal diameter differs
on these two implants, the implant/abutment connection (lilac) is machined to the
same exact specifications (Fig.2, bottom), allowing for cross compatibility of prosthetic
components.
OsseoSpeed Profile
Fig.5
Profile implants are produced with the same
grade 4 titanium
and surface texture (Fig.4) as standard OsseoSpeed implants.
The coronal portion of the Profile implant is cut at a 30
° angle (Fig.5) half way through the diameter of the
implant. This feature may allow placement of the implant in to a sloping bony
crest without bone grafting or a portion of the implant above or below the bone
at the time of implant placement. The implant/abutment interface connection is
constructed as a internal, double hex conical connection (Fig.2), allowing 6 different positions for final abutments
and machined to the same dimensions regardless of the implant diameter..

TX S Profile
implants (Fig.6) are machined with a parallel geometry and a tapered apex.
Two outside thread patterns are machined on to the implant body
consisting of micro threads at the coronal portion and a regular
thread pattern on the main portion of the implant.
One implant diameter of 5.0mm, available in lengths of 9, 11, 13, 15
and 17mm comprises the TX S Profile product group.

implants (Fig.7) are machined with a parallel main body geometry and a conical
crestal portion with a tapered apex. Two outside thread patterns are
machined on to the implant body consisting of micro threads at the
coronal portion and a regular thread pattern on the main portion of the
implant. Two implant diameters of 4.5mm and 5.0mm, available in lengths
of 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17mm comprises the TX Profile product group.
